well i don't know a whole ton about the surround sound stuff....my assumption would be that yes, it would allow you to edit that setting, and that they wouldn't have the option to change that setting it if it were going to break your xbox. i would assume it would be safe to enable writing, change the option and then disable writing afterwards.

again though, not an expert, don't want to be held responsible, yadda yadda...

well....then i'd try to get the ms dashboard. look into nkpatcher 10 a virtual C drive...

Would I be able to get the MS dashboard, ftp it to my c: drive, and then launch it via xbmc or something? Or doesn't it work like that.

sort of but not really....if you replaced whats in your C drive now with a stock C dash, it would boot up like a stock xbox and you'd have no way of getting back in to switch it back. i kinda sucks buying a premodded box and then having to go re-mod it...but i think starting from scratch would be the easiest way.

do you own an older version of mech assault, 007:AUF or splintercell?

I think I have MechAssault (1) installed on the HDD.

Man, that will stink having to do a total remod beingg the reason I bought it was that so I didn't have to..

Well at least u can backup your eeprom safely now, that usually the biggest hassle.

dont ever write to eeprom on a softmodded console.. you will end up having a console withh orange light blinking.. and then you need to get a modchip and fix the eeprom.. if you dare.. read the horror stories in ava forum..
