Why is this no surprise?

I really hate people who bullshit about porting this and that, because they scare off the REAL developers who might take up the cause (figuring, "why work on it if somebody else is already doing it?")

da_frog should probably be drawn and quartered for pulling this crap.

Perhaps one of the REAL Xbox porters could take up the effort and release it anonymously.

I'm going to lock this.

Until somebody SERIOUS comes along and takes this project on, it's obviously only going to be vapor.

Just to comment on this, Me and Da Frog are not (yet) working together on this.  It sounds to me like Da From knows a bit more than me about programming, or at the very least, knows more about half-life's source than me.  Also, he dropped that he was going to call it HalfLifeX in one of his posts.  While I wouldn't be opposed to that name, it's not official at least on my end.  I wish Da Frog a lot of luck, hopefully we'll be able to help eachother out, but it sounds to me like hes coming along pretty quickly.

Yeah, I really believe Xlink will play a big part in X-homebrewing's future.  To be honest, if Da Frog isn't just blowing smoke, he's probably going to be the dev to watch in terms of Half-Life.  However, if/when I get Half Life working on the xbox I'll definitly try to implement xlink support

Actually, what would be really cool would be a Quake2 port, as well, with the HL2 engine. This should be possible, as the HL engine was always a superset of the Quake 2 engine, anyway.

Above all, the port's source should be made available. There's cool stuff out there like the Quake2x port, Region-X and BoXplorer that are basically gone because the source was never release, and seems to be completely unavailable now. sad.gif
