Hmm, that looks right to me.  If you notice in the host.ini in your first post, you have a 192.168.0.300 .  That's not a valid IP, and probably screwed with you.

you could try connecting both boxes using xbmp on both

Or try the Xbox FTP Client.  Works perfectly, no need to edit the ini on the computer (not that it's a problem).  You can obtain it from the normal places.  It worked the first try for me, only took  a few minutes to set up on the Xbox.
