QUOTE (Sottilde @ Sep 29 2003, 01:06 AM)
It's not totally impossible, though.  Remember the 4978.03 bios?  We got an FTP server in there... and that runs in the background.  It's a major breakthrough, and would allow small proggies like this to be used.  Of course, you could expand into even bigger programs to be used exclusively with the phoenix bios loader (I don't think modchips would appreciate 5meg bioses biggrin.gif).   I may be wrong but it could be possible.

One small correction, the FTP is NOT running as a background process. It's launchable by holding down the A button at start. It was implented for other reasons:
1) For people who dont have a cd burner
2) For those who have difficulty in burning a CD
3) For those who mess up their dash somehow and cannot get back into the box
