I occasionally get a few XBOXs to softmod and so far have been FTPing nkpatcher, fonts files, virtual c and eeprom to the C drive. This allows me to hide the boot files from the enduser so that they can virtually never modify the nkpatcher boot files and even if they delete the dash located on E, the XBOX will still load burned media, e.g. a recovery CD.
However, is there a way to put the dash on the real c aswell, so that everything is completely hidden? I've tried it before and the dash did load, however, the settings file and skins were not read (I tried with UnleashX).
If this is not possible, would there be a way to modify nkpatcher to perform a few tests before loading a dash? For example, if nkpatcher detects that there is no dash (currently in E:\SDATA\), run an xbe from the real c drive to do the dash restore to e? I think this would have to be done before virtual c is loaded to function properly.
Thanks for any replies.
