Iso Extraction Program On Xbox?

An image file (ISO) isn't compressed, so even extracted it would take up the same amount of space. I fail to see the novelty.

Iso Extraction Program On Xbox?

There is a program called xiso xfer were you can extract and ftp and iso on the fly so you don't have to extract it on to your PC.  That good for people that don't have enough HD space to extract an iso then ftp it on to the xbox.  It saves time and space

from the readme.txt file

The main feature with xISO xFER is that you can select
your xISO (Xbox ISO) image and extract and transfer it
'on-the-fly' to your Xbox. It is thereby not necessary to
extract the ISO prior to transferring it to your Xbox.

You can mostly likely find the program called xISO xFER or just xFER

the only benifit to transfering iso game files to the xbox hdd and extracting from there is that the transfer process over ftp would be quicker since it is only 1 file compared to 100's or 1000's of files for a game folder, how hard would it be to put support in the dashboards to play the games from the iso?? just wondering.

Adding ISO 9660 support is possible, but ading all that code to read the ISO, and specifically read the files inside of the ISO would be somewhat difficult, and time consuming. Although, people don't view their hobbies as time-consuming, so that's not exactly the issue. But since I can't code anything better than tic-tac-toe or Dice, I don't think I should be the one to answer this.

well, it is good to see that there is some debate to it at least. I like the idea of playing it as an iso without extraction that would be cool
