Could this possibly be the utopia disk? it looks like the only problem right now is that it only boots on debug regions.... otherwise, it is able to boot from EVERY type of media, including an unlocked harddrive... hrm...

Oh, BTW, I did manage to create a "retail" xbox drive, and attempt running the DVD that way... the dashboard came up with an error about the game region... I think the problem is that either A: the hard drive was locked, or B: The eeprom wasn't empty... or debug for that matter. I have a feeling that there's some device that M$ uses to flash the TSOP through the TSOP, and that this is the disc that they use to do so...

Oh, and there's only ONE obvious XBE on there... although I'm willing to bet that there are hidden directories or something on the disc...

ok... it looks like the only way to rip this dvd is to use the nkpatcher "ISO backup utility"... It actually attempted to do something - in that it dumped a directory to my F drive, with the T/UDATA code for the xbe, and a list of defective sectors, as well as an ISO called -fd00001.part1.iso... weighing in at an incomplete 1.20GB

I think if I leave the xbox on overnight, I might be able to get the whole image, and extract it somewhere useful... then examine the results......

I also did a scan of it... visually...

ok... I managed to rip it... now copying from my xbox to PC...

6.54GB in total... I guess UnleashX wasn't lying when it said the disc was 6GB...

alrighty... now I had an nkpatcher-created iso... what to do, what to do?

I suppose that I should try opening it with craxtion, or some sort of XDVDFS utility...

The problem is that the xiso's were separated into two files - one 4GB, and the other a 2.54GB file. I'm currently catting them together to see if I can view the contents....

I should also add that there was a "errorsectors.bin" file, which I think the iso creator created, probably indicating all the fake data on the disk, or something to that effect.

http://www.xbox-linu...hdcontents.html

In this link, you can find out about what is on an xbox hard drive, where nothing has ever been run on the xbox.

XMATAXBOX.XBE is Referenced by the default.xbe on the disc that I have... whether or not it's looking for that program, or what, is undetermined at this time...

(I thought the .01 would have a certificate with more opportunities ... darn it too!)

This sure is an interesting thread though and where there's a will there's usually a way ... good luck with it folks.

the xbe is not a retail xbe. It looks much more like a patched up version (pirated xbe or disc copied to hd)
