The “the Über Easter Egg Exploit” Aka Ueee
« on: January 30, 2005, 01:56:00 PM »

Please read here to understand more about what this is and how its different from current exploits. This is not superior to UXE, it is meant for a live + softmod marriage.

Well its about time we blew the dust off of this and made it public. You will need dashboard 5960's "xodash" folder to create the necessary files to make this execute properly.

I haven't had the chance to re-write rmenhal's readme for the xonlinedash exploit, but if you understand how the original EEE works you can read his readme and figure it out.

When I get some more free time i'll finish it, I'm off for now

Enjoy

re-doing patch for 4920, please stand by for a new version

Quick install:

1. Run the ueee.exe follow instructions.

2. Run the ueee.bat (in the same directory as your xodash folder)

3. Copy the newly made 'xboxdashdata.185EAD00' folder to the root of your C

4. Follow rmenhals readme on how to install the font files.

5. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=216150 for reference

P.S. Created this on the rush, so please point out any mistakes.

Looks interesting!  Does this provide live functionality like the old EEE did?

is there any advantage of using this instead of uxe? the readme file says it suffers from the old clock problem...

(@devz3ro: many thanks for providing the scene this alternative exploit mechanism eh.)

Hopefully to clarify things, here's a summary of information about the UEEE...

(i) it is intended for those that want to boot M$'s current XBL compatible dash INSTEAD of booting a hacked dash directly;

(ii) consequently, it's highly recommended to install it as the settings_adoc.xip (NOT the xboxdash.xbe as indicated in the initial readme!);

(iii) it therefore doesn't "compete" with UXE and will appeal to those primarily wanting "simpler/safer" installs and/or Live access;

(iv) it NEITHER suffers from the clock loop NOR reset on eject (ROE/J) - which means it DOESN't have those problems;

(v) it IS compatible with XBL's update mechanism - which means Live updates DON'T fail (whereas they do for UXE installs);

(vi) as per UXE, it doesn't have "Live console" support (I'm informed they both get a 21);

(vii) as was UXE, UEEE's based upon an .xbe from M$'s "secret UberDash" (see this linked page for related details) eh.

Good work, eh.  That should clear up some stuff for anyone that was wondering or noobs that think this is easier than UXE or something.

that clears up a whole ton....thanks a lot eh.

did i get the wrong readme (that said it still had clock loops problems) or has it just not been updated quite yet?

edit: i only ask about the readme because i'm sitting here wondering if i perhaps downloaded the wrong package or something....wouldn't put it past myself, haha

@Anusko/cmiz: I'm wondering which readme are you referring to, since the one in the root of the ueee.zip (linked via the large "UEEE" in the first post)  doesn't refer to the clock eh?

The readme also mentiones that the habibi signed default.xbe is booted autmatically which shouldn't be the case. I didn't read anything bout clock loop problems. Just that if you leave the xbox unplugged in a non booting state too long it will not boot retail games anymore which is not the same as a clock loop problem.

(That could be it krayzie, because the included readme.txt was for a different [unreleased] usage of the Uber-xonlinedash.xbe, it's maybe causing some confusion eh?)

Folks, as indicated in devz3ro's "Quick install:" post, only the fonts aspect of that readme is relevant to the UEEE setup (plus he stated the following in the first post) eh...
