You can use it on a LAN. I'm on a router the xbox's ip 192.168.0.2 and the computer's ip has to be changed to 192.168.0.1. I found that that works, but there may be other methods available as well. A gamespy client would be kickass though. CTF and grapple! And they should add keyboard support. I could care less about the mouse in that game.

Ok you got me there its not true LAN I use the ip game thing



p.s. im not into quake that much my game is half-life so i dont know much about quake

p.s.s I have a bad habbit of calling anything that uses the lan net port lan

if you know halflife you know quake i see halflife as a windows port of quake 1 i wish they did it with quake 2 i cant wait for halflife 2 im real sic of the flat explosions

I know what ya mean but i just dug quake 2 + 1 from my big stack o cds its been a looooooooong time since i played it and i only played single player and NO mods so im getting use to it half-life has spoiled me

btw im working on a mod as i speak that makes xplosions 3d in half life. flat xplosions piss me too il tell you when im done with my mod

it does work...only problem is you gotta know the ip of the server you wanna play on cos you have to set up the address book in the config file....

can't search....it'll only find lan games that way

i did add the ip but it did me no good i cant find it in the server list
and when i tried to bind the button to connect to the server it sits there and reconnect

i was told it can be done if your xbox is connected to an ip router problem for me is i cant get my old router manual anymore so im stuck

You might want to try WGN on XLink as it is like a virtual LAN.

It may work, it may not...

ohmy.gif  ohmy.gif  ohmy.gif  would it be possible to at least make a coop mode for the online instead of the usual dm tdm ctf all that stuff. would that be easier or harder cause my cousin makes over 450,000 a year programming and he could possibly help me program a coop mode into it

you must have an ip splitter or wingate

i have the old link sys cant get it working the one port version i think its bsf411 or something
when i turn it on lights come on the right then the left and doesnt blink just stays on it wont let me reset either so i cant config it  

dont know what to do
