Tough to port something when it's not open source :-... otherwise, it'd be a great idea.

Exactly.

Cue the request for porting GTA3 in... 3... 2...

I know Half-Life 2 looks great, and is supposed to have and amazing engine, but I am still hoping that it is half the game that part 1 was.
Take Jedi Knight 2 for instance. Good game, nice graphics, light saber battles were highly improved, but...

...I still feel that Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight was the better game by far.
Then there is Unreal II which I have not beat yet, but so far I can honestly say that Unreal: Return To Na Pali held my interest a lot better than this one is doing. I'd go as far as saying that Unreal II does not seem like Unreal at all.

On that note, I REALLY REALLY wish that instead of porting Counter Strike (joy another Death Match game), they would have taken the time to port over Half-Life, and Opposing Force, but no, we get more Death Match which is kool I suppose, but to me there all the same. It seems to be the story line that really separates one  FPS from the other, well that and the slight difference in play mechanics ala Halo. smile.gif

Anything and everything related to the HL engine is delayed.
CS 1.6, Condition Zero, Team Fortress, Action HL....

they don't have a good record going for them sad.gif

da frog:
How do you suppose they are gonna add mod support to a system that has no keyboard or mouse?
You gonna make maps and models with a gamepad?

A MOD menu just needs to be developed to take care of that task, with it you can select the MODs you want loaded, then launch the Main executable with them included. It would replace the old DOS funtions...
