I softmodded a friends xbox last night it is an older box but has dashboard 5960 on it I used the 007 evox pbl to do the softmod everything was great until the point where it said it is now safe to turn off the xbox after that i turned it back on and got an error 21 is there anyway in the world to fix this b/c he was pretty pissed and i really dont want to have to buy him a new xbox any help would be great thanks

Yeah thats the way to help. Can you still load games? If so use 007 to ftp into the box and fix whats wrong. If you were smart which I find most people who softmod aren't, you would have backed up the hard drive first.

yea i backed up the harddrive first but accessing is somewhat impossible due to the fact that it gives an error 21 as soon as I turn it on with or without game in the drive using either the power button or eject button error 21 everytime.   Thought about using xboxhdm but cant get the eeprom or hdd key to unkock the hdd without being able to ftp so any other help would be greatly appreciated

if you didn't loose time (unplugged it too long) you should always be able to boot with a game inside. If not and you don't have the eeprom you could always hotswap tp xboxhdm

well it has been unplugged too long but even with a game inside it still gives error 21 b/c it boots hdd before it boots from dvd rom plus how can i hotswap i thought the drive didnt become unlocked until it got to the dashboard and was there for a minute or two.  I can not get to the dashboard b/c it gives the error as soon as i turn it on
