wow, that was funny.
the only way you get in trouble for having modded you ox with M$ is if you try to go LIVE.  i know there is a way around that too, but i am STILL addicted to halo and have decided to put off getting LIVE for prolly like 9-10 more months.  around the time halo 2 comes out.  unless TRUE CRIME supports online play.
