Props To Tritium!
« on: March 22, 2003, 11:58:00 PM »

Just checking out the Xbox FTP programs at there, not that many, but Tritium's is very very well done!

Just waiting for a direct Xbox to Xbox with a patch cable FTP program...

Why can't you do this now?  I would think you could use static IP addresses and xToolbox on one box, EvoX dash running on the other.  I haven't tried it, but it should work.

Shoot, wish I thought of that last night...

Thanks for the nice feedback!  laugh.gif

As Devenic says, you can do a direct XBox to XBox transfer.

Use static IP, leave one of the XBox's in e.g. EvoX and
use xToolBox on the other one.

Man....damn it. Wish I thought of this last night, I was doing some modding and it would have saved time.

Oh well, but thanks!

I 2nd the props. xToolbox is the only app I use to transfer files over ftp or for renaming/moving/deleting files off the HD. Love the rip feature and the naming for Halo.

As for requests ..

folder size calculation...  I'd LOVE ability to get a complete readout of all the folder sizes for the games I have on there. So far all I can see that does this is xboxplorer and it doesn't work for anything over like 3gb and you have to do each folder at a time.

And maybe a built in ftp server.

I know there's a couple more things i've been meaning to ask for, but can't think of them right now.

It does work.. and I found it to be much much faster than xbftp...don't ask me why.

Simply run evox on one machine and connect to it's IP via xToolBox as already stated.

Shoot, this thing isn't working. On the EvolutionX running Xbox, I set it for a static IP of 1.2.3.4

On the other Xbox running XToolBox, I set the host.ini file to this IP, with the correct name and password

It just won't connect

Any ideas?

Try setting one box to 192.168.0.101 and the other to 192.168.0.102

And are you using a crossover cable?

Also, try the same thing with a PC and the xbox before you try just xbox to xbox.  At least that way you can try ping, etc.

Yes, I am using the patch cable that is for Xbox system link play. I will try those IPs

I always have been doing PC to Xbox, but want to try something new. Doesn't matter its a tad slower

How long does it take for xtoolbox to move the file after it is Q'd up?  Seems like it's taking forever.  Anybody had a similar experience?  XBftp6.1 is really bugging me and I wanna try something else.

thanks

nevermind... I was running xtoolbox v.3 - got 4.1 now and appears to be working.  Much better looking than xbftp061.
