Modding A Crystal

Is it easy to isntall the softmod onto a Crystal X-Box? Or should I get a normal X-Box?

I really want the Crystal one, but if it's not "easily" done, I'll go with the regular one. Is it harder than a normal X-Box? or the same?

It's the same, but there are alot of tools that do all the hard work if get an older (non 1.6 version) xbox

what do I need to get to softmod it a crystal then?
what XBE? UDE? ( I think those are the softmods? sorry if I'm wrong ) which version?

I have a Crystal, man, and I modded it using Idots UXE package with Mechassault. It's not that difficult, one just needs all the right parts (action replay/gameshark dongle, mem card, action replay software), but those all can be "rented" at Wal-Mart or downloaded.

So I guess Mechassault is needed? or can I do it with the 007 game? also where can I find the files needed, I already have action replay and a crystal xbox.

You can probably also use Splinter Cell, if you have that.  People say that you can't use a platinum version of Splinter Cell, but I did, and it worked fine.

As for the files, you can find them, as everyone so rightly calls them, at the "usual places".  Click here to learn how to get there.

Yes.  Mechassault, 007 Agent Under Fire, and Splinter Cell all contain the exploits you need.  You only need to use them once if you're planning on softmodding.  If you don't know how, then i highly recommend this tutorial.  It's the same one that i used to softmod my Xbox.

i have tried to softmod my xbox crystal with the ltools_MA_v1.7.5.zip package and with the ltools_MA_v1.8.rc1.zip package but both didnt work. Does anyone know why? or point me in the right direction to read?
i have checked the table but i coudnt find my xbox crystal's version
it has to be line 1 and week 37 2004
does anyone know which version this is?

is it ntsc or pal? or what, if its not ntsc and it is 1.6 you have to use uxe

It's a 1.6b... I think. Correct if I am wrong... it's at least a 1.6.

You're gonna need UXE to mod that. Ltools 1.8 should work... strange it doesn't.

I used ltools_007_1.7.5 with 007 Agent Under Fire (Classics), all PAL versions on my Crystal XBOX and managed to FTP everything over after gaining FTP access. Don't know if I have a 1.6 or a 1.6b though.

I had to use the EvoX dashboard and that MeToo M8Plus thingy.

yeah that was what i tried to, with the avox dashboard and the m8 bios but the screen just turnt black and stayed that way sad.gif
