Homebrew Game Problems

I downloaded a few homebrew games and have transferred them acroos to my Xbox HDD. Quake 2 runs fine, as does Marbles but I can't get Doom or Pong to load. When I try to run them, I lose all video output (running through PC monitor - Signal Error, as if console was turned off)

What would cause this problem - Any ideas?
