Hmm.. I guess it could potentially be a problem.. but I'd like to hear if other people are having problems with 98.  Did you try the steps in my previous post?

I am pointing it to /e/HDDLoader

and also I've rename the firectory names in there. would that cause any problems?

I will retry on a win2k later.

btw, what is this program program in? would I need to dl and special drivers?

ie isocraxtion require me to install comdlg32.ocx

Does it show the progress bar with free space or anything?

hmm.. statically compiled in mfc, shouldn't need much else..

Tell me how win2k goes.

blue bar shows harddrive usage.  If it had shown up on xbox side then you'd just have an empty directory.

I just tried it on nexgen and nexgen froze, and xgman didn't get any listings.

When you hit the update button, does it stay down?  Or does it come up almost right away.

evox 1.8.2812

perhaps that is the problem.. I'm using the newer 1.8.3285

Actually, I remember them saying they made ftp changes in the latest version, try it and see

"FTP CWD command fixed." <-- this was a message in the latest version.  I think upgrading will fix it.

Are you running the latest internet explorer on your 98 machine?  It might be relevant...

Found the problem..

In order to keep the ftp connection from being used repeatedly at the same time I was using a lock.  In order to check the lock I used a function that was win2k+ only which I didn't realize at the time.

Version 1.2 is now available at http://archon.cs.unm.edu/xgman/ and includes win98 compatibility.  It also has other added features.

Thanks for the report.
