There is no longer support for ini files.

Your MXM_Entry.xml file should look like:

<Config>

Rocky

</Config>

Also, don't set these:
<TitleDelay>0</TitleDelay>
<SaverDelay>0</SaverDelay>
to zero... try 5 and something large for SaverDelay (I'll have to check this, 0 may be OK)

Lastly, the MXM_Entry.xml file of course, belongs in the game directory.

Can you try running this on your HD first, and get it running properly? That's the best way to test your scripts (you don't have to run the programs, just make sure everything comes up)

If I get time, I will try your xml files here locally.

I figured it out.. I just deleted the mxm_ss.jpg file in the game directories and then everything worked great..

what parameters do the jpgs need to be?

thanks for your help!

Hmmmm... I build all my JPGs with Corel PhotoPaint, and I never have a problem with them. I don't use Progressive, and they are usually "Standard 4:2:2" Optimized.

Unfortunately, there are just some formats M$ APIs can't cope with. Before I realized there was support built in for many different image formats, I had intended on creating my own library (didn't realize I was re-inventing the wheel), and discovered from link issues as well as others' help, that M$ was already using the same sources. AFAIK, the sources M$ uses should be widely compatible (one of the reasons I chose them as well), but a few PNGs and now, it seems, JPGs have tripped up the code.

Glad to see you've got it all up and running. Can you tell me what you used to make your JPGs?
