You can't. The standard MS-BIOS checks for a disc in the drive automatically before the softmod kicks in.

You can't replace the MS-BIOS on a softmod.

If you want that level of control you need to chip or TSOP flash your Xbox.

Thank you for the quick reply - that's exactly the kind of answer I was looking for.  I'll probably just live with it, then.  Thanks again for your help.
