I dont think it is possible when you have a retail bios, because of the  POST Power-on-self-test it will look for the disc drive and if it isnt there you will probably see a error code.

Hi, its posible, but you must have a mod-chip with a mod bios

do a TSOP flash.i just did mine and my xbox is 1.0 softmodded.and the TSOP flash worked great smile.gif.now i can get to work on a slimbox mod tongue.gif.
i used a 256 bios instead of a 1MB just incase somthing went wrong i could still flash the other side of the tsop smile.gif
and modchips have a higher chance to frag ur xbox than a TSOP flash...and best of all its free smile.gif
