ok now the only thing i got to work is the emergency linux and the rest just takes me to a black screen.

 your dashboard may be too new for the installer.  Make sure your xbox doesn't lose power(just in case you may run into clock loop) and see if your dashboard can still come up, when you don't have the game in the DVD.

You need to go the UDE route, if your BIOS is not too new.
