Modded Xecuter2.4981

i have a modded Xecuter2.4981 that xbtool won't open. it will unpack it and i have the 3 files: 2bl.img, remainder.img and xboxkrnl.img.

is there a way to edit these files in a hex editor to increase the fan speed to 100% and repack it with xbtool?
