4034 is an OLD ms dashboard, 4979 is an old Xecuter bios.

You have a chip?  Softmod?

What bios do you have now?

The highest kernel (BIOS) that you can run on your XBOX (if you are currently running 4034, meaning you have a v1.0 XBOX) is the 5101 BIOS.

Normally, the 5101 BIOS is not compatible with the v1.0 XBOXes (your XBOX) but I was able to pack the 5101 kernel into a v1.0 compatible BIOS, and it is now compatible with v1.0 XBOXes. If you are using a softmod, I recommend updating to my 5101 BIOS.

My BIOS is called 'Frosty's v1.0 5101' and you can find it in the usual places.

NOTE: In order to flash a new BIOS onto a stock XBOX, you will need to do some soldering to enable the writing of your BIOS chip. If you do not know how to solder, then I do not recommend that you do this. If you do know how to solder, then go to the 'TSOP Flashing' forum here at xbox-scene.com, and they will be happy to guide you further on the procedure.
