Most Stable X3 Bios
« on: December 11, 2006, 11:13:00 AM »

hey all, i was wondering what the most stable X3 bios is, as I have upgraded to the latest 3294, but cannot play any xbox games (originals and backups). original games do work when the chip is disabled however, without fail, so it seems there is a problem with the chip/bios, rather than the dvd-drive.

thanks in advance for any ideas (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Have you cleared your cache or tried any of the other basic fixes outlined in the pinned topic in the backup forum?

hey. I have cleared my cache as outlined on the sticky in team-xecuter's help forum for the chip. is there another source which details doing any thing else that arent mentioned there?

I have cleaned the dvd drive lens with a cd lens cleaner, set my system clock thru the MS dash, cleared my cache in E:CACHE, X:, Y:, and Z:

The xbox plays audio cds fine through the MS dash, and plays original xbox games when the X3 is disabled. The xbox does not play games when the chip is enabled (originals and backups), and interestingly, when I "reboot to dash" from the X3 dash, with an original game in the dvd drive, i am asked to eject it to continue as the disk is not recognised.

i have tried flashing with older bioses to test them and have found that the 3283 bios and later have problems with all games, as it always boots to the X3 dash when games are in the dvd drive. When autostart x3cl is disabled, the "X3 rox my box" logo dissappears leaving the default "XBOX Microsoft" and nothing happens for over a minute, though you can hear the dvd drive spinning up and down, and the HD led flashes on the front of the X3 switch.

the 3108 bios detects all games in the drive, and even starts the newer games, such as Fifa 07, but soon gives the dirty/damaged disk error, which the later bioses are meant to fix...

Any ideas?

hey all, I have an X3, but the latest bioses dont play any games (32xx bioses), and they simply go to the X3 dash. I have heard that newer games have a media check on them, and give a dirty/damaged disk error when playing backups.

What bios is best to avoid this problem?

cheers
