Pc To Xbox Problems

You guys have been much help... like i now understand how to do everything like modding and what have you, just... i've been fiddling with my xbox to pc deal through the IDE cables and it sure as hell is not working...  my kernel is 4034, dash 5659... windows 2003 server... what im doing.... i took my cd-r/rw cable out... then, turned my xbox on, turned off my pc... waited 10 minutes for the HDD to down-spin and then i took the empty cd-r/rw cable... and pugged it into my xbox HDD... i tryed the pause one, and it takes about 8 seconds to detect the hard drive(usually goes instantly without it). but then when i go to my dekstop, and go into FATXPLORER it says it cannot detect it, and also doesnt' detect it in the disk manager. please help ... thank you very much.

try this hotswap method:
1. turn on your xbox with the xbox ide cable and xbox power cable plugged into the box
2. let it load up to the dash (you dont hear anymore HD activity)
3. boot to windows.
4. open device manger.
5. remove xbox ide cable and plug pc ide cable into xbox hd
6. press scan for hardware changes button
7. drive should appear under "disk drives"
8. if comp takes a really long time to respond you messed up the hotswap if it doesnt take that long it worked.

lol how many times have u had to paste those same hotswap steps lol :P write a tutorial or something lol :D

oh yeh, both methods work for me its just a case of knowing when the xbox hd is unlocked, you can tell by the noise it makes, most ppl dont even need to look at their tv.

2nd time. i've written a tutorial its in the tutorials thread actually. since i had already written that out to that other guy decided to copy paste.
