Xecuter2 4973 (1.) Bios Need Upgrading
« on: November 05, 2006, 10:19:00 PM »

i was told that by upgrading and changing my bios i can change the "flubber" that occurs when first booting to anything else.. i want the xbox360 intro when i first boot up..

i know i have an old bios and i need an upgrade..i been doing research i dont clearly understand what is needed to do to do this bios upgrade..i downloaded the 4977 bios .. not sure if it is the latest bios for X2 and Flash X.. are these the correct tools to do this upgrade?
do i have the correct bios to do the 360 intro?
is there any other easier methods to do this upgrade?

Thanks

1) i don't know how to do that x360 start-up thing.never heard of it  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)
2)does your xecuter chip have switches on it like mine?? eg a little panel under controller port 1 on the xbox with an led and 3 switches??
3)why are you using an ancient xecuter bios??? go back to the usual places and download xecuter bios 5035 in the multi folder in xecuter 2 bit. and whilst your at it get the flashbios 3.03
4)at the usual places go to pc tools then download x2 bios manager and x2ool.

5)if you have switches open up xecuter 2 bios manager then place xecuter 2 5035 in bank 1/2 and flashbios in bank 3/4.

or

6) if you don't have switches open up xecuter 2 bios manager and place 5035 bios in bank 1/2/3/4.

then

7)then save the bios and put it in bios folder on evox boot cd and flash chip.

for both methods

8) with the .ini file you got with the xecuter 5035 bios place it in THE ROOT of the e or f partition.  but edit it if you want reset on eject different colours, in game reset .....

you can also alternatively use config maker 2.7.2 to change ini file.

ok well open up x2 bios manager and place the 5035 old bios in banks 1/2 plus 3/4. then make evox boot cd and place in bios folder. then make sure flash protection is off and flash chip.

edit ini file if you want to make colour changes etc.. and ftp into xbox with same evox boot cd and place in root of e or f drive. i can email you a copy of my ini file if you want so you can see what i have done.

i edit out of notepad but you can use the tools since i don't know the code combonations for the colours etc...

all of those tools should be available on this site under tools section since they aren't built with xdk

You most likely will need to tweak your bootorder in your x2config.ini to look for XBMC.

You could boot to a boot disc and use the FTP from that to edit the ini file.

well the ftp problem isn't a bios fault. the bios will never have anything to do with the network i'm 100% sure. just make sure that xbmc is configured properly.

are you using a crossover cable to pc or patch cable vie router to pc. if using crossover you will need to setup static in xbmc. or with routers ip adress will be assinged automatically. just enter the details into flashfxp it should work perfectly.

so it's not the bios causing the problem it's the network.

i was told that by upgrading and changing my bios i can change the "flubber" that occurs when first booting to anything else.. i want the xbox360 intro when i first boot up..

Best method for this, if you still wanted the xbox 360 intro:
edit the line of x2config.ini to look like this

; display flubber anim
doStartupAnimation = 0

this will mean the original xbox flubber thing is skipped.
Then you put a .avi of the 360 boot in some folder of XBMC (i can't remember where)

I can get actual details and find necessary files (the video and edited XBMC files) if you'd like.
