I thought it could be, that I´ve signed the default.xbe (located on e:\) wrong ?

i thought the update.xbe is a already MS signed and didnt need to be resigned with the habibi key to use?

Update.xbe is.  He's talking about signing e:\default.xbe - in his case, PBL.

i mean: what's a good, free win32 prog for encoding into base64?

btw, i think every exploiter should have this easter-egg on their box.  if nothing else, it is a very good backdoor in case something else fails.

In most of the case, when something failed, one can't even get back to the dashboard so the easter egg won't help.

The only reliable backdoor is game safe(except the clock loop issue but that shouldn't be a problem for the new exploits) so everyone should have one of those properly installed before playing around.

No, you do copy it to a text file, but you rename that text file to *.b64. Open it with winzip after changing the extension, then extract the *.001 file inside. Open the *.001 file with winrar and you will see the ST.DB. Extract that and follow the directions.

ohmy.gif (hobbles to his knees and begins to grovel)
Would someone be so kind as to place all of the essentials, including an updated readme, in a solidified package and place it in the usual places and then create a unified tut on the forums? I know i would be greatful along with a good amount of the newer members of the community. Infact, i offer my service to write up the tut on the forums so long as the readme is clear and concise.  ohmy.gif

So i plea to the grandwizards of the upmost high, consider this request.

Ok, heres the poop (providing im using the correct package).

I read the readme and followed it along until it said WHIPE my C: folder and replace x with a.

Instead, i skipped that part and followed the rest of the forum/readme up until the new bert-ate-eirne part. It got a but confusing and im tired, it will wait.

When i booted and started to run the eater-egg it gave me an odd error, one that i wasnt sure existed. "You have reached the limit of 100 soundtracks, you cannot create anymore"

LOL well now i know there is a cap on the amount of soundtracks i can use but it didnt get me any closer to the brass ring.

Ok, so i renamed my files using the .bak extention so i didnt lose anything or copy over it. I have completely backed up my box drive to my PC. and i have removed all the changes i made to the box (except for removing my AUF save for the FTP).

Is there anyway i could ask like a simpleton, in the most humble of ways, in the kindest voice.

The answer to your question is simple:

No.

Not by me atleast. If you can't take the time out to read and learn to do it on your own, I sure as hell am not going to make a super-noob (slayers-like if you will) package. Our goal is not for you to go to blockbuster to copy a game and take it back, or for you to download a game off of a torrent / ftp / newsgroup / dc etc. & put it in and play. All of the information you're requesting is on this board. Yes it might take you a while to sort through it all. We had to do it, and if you desire to find anything out, so do you.

P.S. I do admit the UDE pack found in the usual places by me does need a critical update to the readme. After being hosted for a few weeks, Iriez had to remove important files and edit my readme. When he edited it, he was not very clear about the now missing files. I have been very busy lately, but will get to it when I have time.

Wow....nice hostility. atleast the updated readme is a start. Thanx for the feedback.

BTW, im not in it to copy games from blockbuster. If i was i would hardmod and mod my HDD and get a spare Xbox for live play.

But your incharge. You hold the knowledge which i wish to gain.

atleast do me a favor please. Can you point me to the thread of the original easter-egg xploit. I have tried to use the google search and nothing. I read about a ton on information (uncluding this thread)  about the xploit but nothing ever really explaining how to do it. I'm fairly coherint and understand whats going on here, and i understand how its working mostly (coding was never a strong point for me) but i just dont have a starting point. Its like telling me to find the needle in the needle stack. Cut me some slack.

BTW. Im still seaching the forums for more info on it so if i hit the mother load I'll erase this post and praise you.

I do have a greater understanding on the processes that allows this to work, now if i can only figure out what file is telling the dash to go from Xdash to Evodash so i can replaces it with the correct one. (wanders off pondering)

I'd like to change things to instead of going to either PBL-> evox, I'd either like it to go PBL->Linux or just to Linux. I've tried changing files around, signing files, but I can't get it to work? Do I need to change the BIOS?

Have you tried renaming and placing the files you want in the correct directory. I know it seems pretty basic , but sometimes we over look the easy stuff.... or you can use Xbtool is your using a physical mod also.
