In Desperation Over Flashbios_x3_303-unauth
« on: October 22, 2006, 04:07:00 PM »

Hello, all
I am a US Soldier stationed in Iraq.  Recently, due to my own lack of knowledge/experienced, I managed to misuse ConfigMagic 1.6 Final in an attempt to resurrect another soldier's softmodded Xbox.  I flashed his EEPROM bin onto my EEPROM to lock his HDD with his password, which worked, and he couldn't be happier).

In doing so, I have put my own Xbox (1.6b, Xecuter 3ce/solderless kit, 200GB HDD) in a "Coma".  It will still boot to FlashBIOS 3.0.3 (which I discovered, then proceded to flash into the top 4 256 banks just to be sure), and will seemingly flash other BIOSs perfectly.  However, EVERY other BIOS I flash either boot 2x then FRAGs, or begins to boot then just sits there with a green LED, and no signal to the TV.  I can hear the fan spin down, and the HDD spin down.

I tried the AddEEPROM, EEPROM.BIN, cromwell_patched.bin approach with my own EEPROM data, to no avail... FRAG.  After exhaustive research on this and other sites, I believe that flashbios_x3_303-unauthorized is my only option that doesn't involve new hardware.

Here's my problem.  As stated above, I am a soldier in Iraq.  I do not have great internet.  I cannot access IRC from the internet here.  I have searched Torrent sites, Google, Usenet, I even tried eDonkey, but couldn't connect.  I found another FTP site that seemed to have everything EXCEPT the one thing I need.  Are there any other options or outlets?  Of course I am not asking anyone to send it to me directly.  I just need to know if I have exhausted all options before I start poking around eBay or Amazon.

Any help, direction, consolation ect will be greatly appreciated.

OK, nevermind (not that anyone did, anyway)... I was finally able to guide my wife through accessing Xbins from home.  And it took about 30 seconds to fix my Xbox and flash my own EEPROM back after I had that stupid little 256k file.  From totally dead to fully functional in 2 minutes.  Well, later
