It is posible to use pbl 1.3.  You need xboxrom.bin in e:\feenix  and evoxdash.xbe in c:\.  There is no need to make blank jpg files with pbl 1.3..

ok i've tried using both the d6 eject fix and m7 eject fix bioses

The bfm one and creating a custom one to look were i want it to for evox.

only thing is when i choose the bios after pressing A in pbl is

Parsing RC4 key
Checking xbox version

Parsing

finding 2bl point or something oalonmg those lines and it just sits there

no evox??

bit if i use the 4977 bfm bios which came with mnrdens package all works fine?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Still don't get this to work, so some more questions here,

The font files witch should be replaced are the one in the font dir aren't they didn't try the one in the root dir (suspect this will fuck up my x-box)

Tryed 1.3.5 now and still no go!

So perhaps mist some steps (don't tink so followed the manual) or I should run the installer fist and then adjust the files.

How more i think about it how more i think this is the way to go (but i seem weird because of the title of this topic)

But if anyone got this running, can you post youre steps.

dragor: M6 didn't work for me with PBL 1.3 and for M7 you will need the newly udated,   but X2 4977 works better!!

I was curious, though... if someone were to try to update to a newer dash, whould it fail because the xtf's are missing?

but heres my thing i did what was said and it thrashed my shit,,   i was stuck in a clock loop that wouldnt stop.. 20 min and it was still rebooting.


so heres the thing.

in the first page of the thread, your telling pepople to put evox in e/feenix/bios  no but sorry dude that aint gunna work.
you would have to use XBtool and change the root directory of the 1st boot to e/feenix/bioses/evox.xbe or default.xbe or evoxdash.xbe.. or whatever you have it names to.

simply keeping the stock bios at c/evoxdash.xbe is the onyl way it will work..   maybe e/evoxdash but 4977 wont allow deep directory booting,, ive tested it and so far nothing will boot.

ok so aside from the simple and MUCH appreciated tut you are giving us can you PLEASE PLEASE update it with a directory listing of where they go so we can all see where the files PHYSICALLY are,,
e/feenix/(all pbl files) c:/(evox files)  e:/feenix/bioses(feenix bioses)


and lastly and MOST MOST importantly.

the fonts YOU have listed are NOT i repeat NOT the same as the ones that are posted by nailed, and nailed said his did not need hex editing.,

I have successfully been using these fonts for a few days now.

I used the set posted in the first post in this topic. I tried PBL 1.3.5i but it didn't wanna boot, so i switched to PBL 1.3, and it loads fine everytime. I have NO CLOCK LOOP and am using 4977.

Yes, your box should still let you load games as long as you still have the clock set. I broke my box a couple of times trying to do this tutorial, and loading up Mechassault through EvoX and reuploading my fonts etc fixed it.

Yes, the fonts are different - they are designed to be different. Mine loads from e:/feenix and detects for the bg.jpg file, whereas the other one uses something else to detect it. No mystery - I even posted in that thread about it, altered them and re-encoded. Not exactly earthshattering and he allowed me (and told me) how to do it. Both fonts will work, but use the fonts in my tutorial if you want to use my tutorial. All 3 different sets of MechInstaller fonts work, but different file locations and hex editing may be required. So just use mine and ignore the rest.

The tutorial from where I am sitting is easy enough to follow through, so I can't be bothered to change it at the moment, I might tomorrow. Oh, and as I leave my Xbox unplugged it has came out of the clock bug 5 times now with MechInstaller - always after the 1st reset too.

I also don't understand what problem you have TRYING this out. I've accidentally broke my dashboard a couple of times in the process of writing this tutorial, but it was nothing loading EvoX through MechAssault and reuploading a C drive backup wouldn't solve.

The old fonts can be renamed anything except the original filenames, but I renamed them to .bak Were you previously using a hex edited Xbox Dash as this may cause problems with this exploit? Are you using the Xbox Live! dash?

I don't really know how other font files work with this exploit as I use D6 NoEject, and I'm not really the expert on bioses. Maybe the bios needs to be in a different place - I honestly don't know. I've just checked and apparently it does try to load c:evoxdash.xbe.

Assuming you are using the fonts from the front page (and not the ones from the EvoX package) I honestly can't tell you where you are going wrong. You should not need to sign EvoX with habibi. If you can't get it to work, load up MechAssault and reinstall your C drive and try again.

Oh, and I've slightly updated the tutorial again to make some things clearer - nothing major

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Doesn't your Xbox boot up at all? Are you using the original MSDash and not a hexed one? Won't games such as MechAssault load, or just don't you own it?

"st.db" is not related to this exploit at all. An altered st.db is required for the audio exploit but not this font exploit.
