Reinstalling the DB will not help.

Boot to MXM.
FTP to the xbox
g: to e:\tdatafffe0000music
delete st.or
Reboot

Problem should be solved.

QUOTE (anjilslaire @ Dec 3 2003, 02:01 PM)
To fix mxm's wanting to dhcp the address if not connected to a network ( I only run my cat5 to my switch when needed cuz my xbox is 20 feet from my PC), I made f:evox with evox renamed default.xbe, and evox.ini & skins inside, then added the appropriate:

EvolutionX</Tiltle>
<Exe>
 f:evoxdefault.xbe
</Exe>

Now I can launch evox from within mxm, which still has my desired static 192.168.0.3 address, reboot, then mxm has it again. Sounds time consuming, but not once your running it. This is needed because when mxm bots up without a network, it assigns 192.168.1.14 to itself. Later, when booted while on the network, it still is .1.14. A pain in my case. So I run evox, reboot, voila. mxm 192.168.0.3.

Long-winded, but thought I'd contribute rather than ask only.

I will have a better fix for this shortly.

CODE

False
192.168.1.100
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2
192.168.1.1
255.255.255.0

MXM should take this IP even without a cable attached.

As an added bonus, a little security for your xbox...
Ya ever worry about clicking that live button by accident?

AFAIK the Live button uses whatever IP the xbox is set for.

By disabling your Default Gateway your the xbox should still be able to ftp around your network, but should not reach the internet. This means it can't reach the live update servers if you accidently click the button.

If you want to use live, you can re-enable the Default Gateway.

You shouldn't have to enable it to use xbconnect.

Now here is an item for menu.xml. It will enable and disable the default gateway. Change the GW variable to your gateway (it's set on the first line). This will toggle between on and off. It requires a reboot after the change, so it does it automatically.

CODE

Enable Disable Internet Access

Set GW "192.168.1.1"
Set BadGW "192.168.1.2"
XMLOpen netsettings e:\mxm\mxm.xml
XMLGetValue netsettings CurGW !.Network.DefaultGateway
if %CURGW% == %BADGW% goto on
:off
XMLSetValue netsettings !.Network.DefaultGateway %BADGW%
callscript _DisplayMessagebox "Gateway removed."
goto finish
:on
XMLSetValue netsettings !.Network.DefaultGateway %GW%
callscript _DisplayMessagebox "Gateway set to %GW%."
:finish
XMLSave netsettings e:\mxm\mxm.xml
XMLClose netsettings
reboot

I have tested that your live will not get updated if you go into live with an invalid gateway set.

CODE

placeholder
c:\xboxdash.xbe>

4. Create a new mxm.XML in the e:\mxm directory containing:
CODE

Media X Menu

SETFUNC installed FILEEXISTS e:\Morden\install.loc
If %installed% == 1 goto Installed
Quit
:Installed
SETFUNC dbhacked FILEEXISTS E:\Morden\hack.loc
If %dbhacked% == 1 goto finish
delete E:\Tdata\fffe0000\music\st.or
SETFUNC dbexist FILEEXISTS E:\Tdata\fffe0000\music\st.db
If %dbexist% == 0 goto nope
RENAME E:\Tdata\fffe0000\music\st.db E:\Tdata\fffe0000\music\st.or
:nope
COPY E:\Tdata\fffe0000\music\st.hk E:\Tdata\fffe0000\music\st.db
callscript CreateLock E:\Morden\hack.loc
:finish
SETFUNC auto FILEEXISTS e:\MXM\Autoexec.xas
If %auto% == 0 goto runit
callscript autoexec.xas
quit
:runit
Exec "F:\\apps\\XBMP\\default.xbe"

openwrite lockfile %1%
writefile lockfile "lock"
closefile lockfile

Substituting the path to your XBMP in the line "Exec "F:\\apps\\XBMP\\default.xbe"" (note the quotes and doubled \'s!)

5. Reboot!

Whats going to happen here, MXM is going to load, and check to see if there is anything that needs to be done at boot (fixing the DB, restoring the BIOS, ETC.). If not, it will launch XBMP.

Once in XBMP, you can launch the COPY of MXM when needed, and use the gamestub and custom BIOS's, from there!

Downside is... Takes a little longer to boot!

i installed morden's audio package v3 on a friend's xbox (mechassault version) yesterday. i tried everything out and it worked like a charm. today he told me, when he presses the "standard button combo" (hope you know what i mean this time), he get's the service screen with error code 21. i confirmed that and had to reinstall the audio exploit with the mechassault-exploit to make it work again. does anyone know what happened? did he turn the xbox off at the wrong time? i hope that won't happen again, because he does not have an exploitable version of mechassault and i have to help him out every time...

The audio exploit sometimes gets corrupted. It is most often caused by screwing up doing the button combo.

But yes, this does happen sometimes!

will that issue be fixed one day? is it a problem of the audio exploit itself?

thanks again for your ultra-fast reply. your work for the scene is greatly appreciated.

It's just something with the exploit... no one knows quite what causes it.

Just FYI, I don't recommend anyone do a software only hack unless they are willing to:
a. Hotswap!
b. Go out and buy MA or 007!

Thanks for a great update on your V2 package Morden. I really do like MXM compared to evox, but anyway here is my problem.
Installed your package fine but I have noticed that I can not find the Boxplorer app icon on my MXM dashboard. It looks as though it has not been found but I have checked my save game directory (007) and Boxplorer is there but I get no app in my dashboard.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I have the solution to your problem, it's kinda wierd but it works....

Oh! I see smile.gif I havent had time to look into it myself...

QUOTE
1. Copy your E:MXM dir to someplace else.. I.E. e:appsmxm.
2. In the e:mxm dir delete:
mxm.xml
menu.xml
cache_menu.xml
BiosMenu.xas

OK, I am with you on this one....

Nice bit of code by the way!

QUOTE (shroud @ Dec 4 2003, 12:05 AM)
Trying to play some emus off the hard drive and not seeing the Emus menu from MXM. Here is what I have done.

Used XISO to take the FCNES iso and convert it to individual files.
FTP'd into Xbox and created a emus dir on E:
Created a folder inside of emus called FCNES
Copied all of the contents of the files into FCNES dir
created this MXM_Entry.xml file and put into the E:emus folder (default.xbe is the only xbe in FCNES files)

<Config>

FCNES with Romz

NES Emulator

<Exe>default.xbe</Exe>

</Config>

Enabled Automenu in MXM and selected Games and Apps menu type
IGR

I do not see the menu for emus, only audio package and MS Dashboard. I can see from the menu.xml file that both e:emus and f:emus are set for Autodir, so it should pick up on my newly created e:emus dir. Any idea what went wrong and why i'm not seeing emus menu? Tried renamed e:emus to e:games and still had no luck.

You put WAY too much into this!

As I have said several times now:

1. Put whatever application you want under:
e:\apps
f:\apps
e:\games
f:\games
e:\emus
f:\emus

2. Boot to mxm.

3. Hit Y.

4. Select reset menu cache.

5. Select reboot.

The item you added will show up on a menu of the same name as the folder, so if you put FCNES in the emus folder (I.E. e:\emus\FCNES), then FCnes will show up on the emus menu.

There is no need to create a MXM_Entry.xml, there is no need to adjust any automenu settings!

There is no Apps menu?

Boxplorer should be on the apps menu.
