Funny Xbox That Doesnt Like Running Anything
« on: June 04, 2006, 08:05:00 AM »

Hey guys, I have a 1.0 Xbox here with an X2.0 and a 4976 bios running Unleash X for a dash, 100Gb Maxtor Hd, and Thomson dvd.

For some reason, some of my games wont boot off of a dvd, and just freeze or give a black screen with no sound. So far Splinter Cell 2, DOA ultimate, have done this, but GTA SA, and Digimon Battle arena, and morrowind have backed up fine!

I tried using Phoenix bios loader to quickly load up 4983 to see if that was the problem, but the games still freeze up

Any ideas as to why this may be happening?

No the Originals don't work either, which is why I ripped to HD

I also sent my copy of Fight Night Round 3 I had pre ripped to My computer to the new xbox (I have several),
and it works in the old one just fine off the HD, but wont boot on the new one

Guess you can try a new bios, I really don't know. I don't know if running a bios on top of a bios works or not but i doubt it. 4976 is pretty old. flash your chip. Check and make sure all your IDE cables and such are connected. If your running a PAL xbox make sure youselect the proper region. If you can backup your HD, Format and give it another go.
I'm not really sure, but i hope you could fix this problem. Try posting in the newbie section if you haven't already.
