I dont believe you will be able to fix it with out a programmer, or by hotswap flash on another modded box.... but maybe someone else has a solution.

My mate got exactly the same Aladdin chip / EvoX bios installed that I did.
What is this hot swap thing?

Thanks.

Edit: Yeah just found the tut. No way I'm opening the sucker up, I've done enough damage!

when you boot M$ dash and go to settings theres an info page and that gives kernel version. if it reports k1.00.5838 then its a v1.6 and dont use the evox M8Plus use the Evox M8Plus_16

to flash aladdin hold down power button for 3 sec untill it flickers at boot..  then it is open..

the reason it jumps to ms could be because u got evox.dash in wrong partition..

try install evox on f and c..

Hey Pezzar, I found this in the M$ settings - K 1.00.5101.01.

I know how to put the Aladdin into flash mode - hold for 5 secs till Led flashes then release, but nothing happens. How can I use this method to help me? Can I reflash from a CDr or something? What bios should I use then? Pretty certain the original EvoX bios was M8 (not plus or _16).

May have to return to Mod shop and get him to hook up his Aladdin programmer.

Anyone have any thoughts?
Cheers all.

this kernel version K 1.00.5101.01.
is def not a v1.6 more like a v1.4

so use the Evox M8Plus.bin not the 1.6 version

I think it is a v1.4. I also think the original bios I had was EvoXM8 (without the plus), perhaps this caused the problem? Another cause might be that I didn't copy the new hash thingo (givin by EVtool) to the evox.ini file, after I changed things in the bios (all I did was 'remove Evox logo')?
Is there a way to use a boot disc to at least be able to FTP to the xbox, so I could add the appropriate file(s) to the evox.ini - or is this unlikely to even be the problem?

Thanks again guys.

I'm not messing with it anymore. Took it back to the place I had it installed so they can hook their programmer up to it.
No more playing around with bios's for me.
