Debug 1.6 Bios With Lba48?
« on: August 21, 2005, 04:11:00 PM »

I'm currently using the x2.5035 bios on one of my 512k banks, and debug.256k.yoshi.k2005.v16.bin on the other.
I tried getting the fdrive.dxt file to work to support my fdrive in the xdklauncher, but no luck. Someone over in the development forums pointed out that it may be because the bios doesn't support LBA48 for my HD because it's a 250 GB. Because the F drive will show up, but it will say that it only has a capacity of 120.52 GB and it's all used, but its empty...  blink.gif

So is there a Debug bios for a 1.6 xbox that has LBA48 support, or could mine be patched?

Also, since the x2.5035 can run in debug mode. Should I just flash that to each bank and edit the second one in hex to load a separate x2config.ini that tells it to load in debug mode?
I mean... would the x2.5035 work in debug mode with LBA48 support?

Thanks in advance for the help,
-Danny

Yes, it does. I have a 160 GB hard drive, with F taking up all the space, and it can recognize my whole F drive.

Hey Danny!

I just got it working by editing one Zero to a ONE in the x2config file... damn, and all that time...

I was just coming to let you (Danny) know, when I realized you got it... a bit slow on the pick-me-up...

Peace!

SWEET! So the x2 bios can work with 137+ gb hd's in debug mode? Hell ya, lol

I thought this was it, so since I can't test it till later, I just edited a copy of x2.5035 in hex to make it load 'xdkonfig.ini' instead of x2config.ini, because I already have the x2 bios as my main bios. So this way, I can just have 2 different ini files and each bios will load a different one.

Thanks for confirming this.

By the way... so since the xdklauncher can load xbe's off of the F partition now, will it list all games in F:/Games/? Or does it only check for xbe's 1 folder deep in each partition?

Thanks a lot!

No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the XDK launcher to list my games. I just launched them from Xbox Neighborhood  smile.gif

Ya, that's what I'm having to do, Or you can put a small filemanager like BoxPlorer in your E/DevKit/ folder to have it show up on the list, so you can just open that from the launcher menu and then goto the game and load the xbe. That way, if you aren't near your pc or don't have it turned on or with you, you can still load those games.

The odd thing is that with the 'debug.256k.yoshi.k2005.v16' bios I could load Halo2 and play without ANY issues, all I had to do was delete vx.dxt.
Now that I'm using the x2.5035 in debug mode, I can use my F partition perfectly, but can't play Halo2, off of the DVD or the HD.

It will load and then when I goto select my profile, all of my saved profiles aren't there, and when I goto Create New Profile, after I name it, it sais,"You have reached the maximum number of profiles. Would you like to go to the Xbox Dashboard and try removing a few?", and I can goto 'Exit to Xbox Dashboard', or Cancel'. So then if I try loading the Default profile, then the game just freezes.

I remember someone posting this issue. But I searched and looked through pages of threads in a couple different forums and I couldn't find it...

The weird thing is that if I switch to the yoshi debug bios, it will load without a problem.

Anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks,
-Danny

I have not the slightest clue. All I know is that it worked for me. And it doesn't for other people. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Nevermind, Poida^ from Team Xecuter forum answered my question:

One thing I noticed is that x2ool doesn't modify the .bin file but updates your config file.

X2 reads a config file (x2config.ini) from either E or F drive.
