ok.some how i deleted my dash and now im getting error 13.
anyway i was wondering if i can replace the hdd with a hdd from my old xbox.or is there some kind of boot disk i can use to reinstall my dash for me.
i dont want to hotswap cause i really dont know what im doing with that kinda stuff.

my xbox is making me sick and tired or its BS!

You have 3 options:

1. If you have the EEPROM.BIN, use XBOXHDM to copy the Dash files back.

2. Build a EEPROM reader and use XBOXHDM.

3. If you do not have the EEPROM.BIN, you'll need chip it.

i didnt get a chance to back up anything on it.
i dont know how to build a eeprom reader....
...wouldnt slayers work?
my xbox was... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)   1.0   5960 dash ..my main dash was unleashX .the dvd rom is a samsung ver.b ..
im just trying to avoid hookin my xbhd up to my pc cause it seems pretty hard.
tutorials only make it seem harder
oh and it can still play xbox games.no prob.

if you just deleted the dash then slayers should work
the gamesave installer dash should give you FTP to fix it

hmm ill try burning slayers to cd-rw and dvd-r.
i hope i get it working soon..
just being able to play xbox games is f***ed up.
kinda wish i could just buy a new hd .plug and play..im lazy lol

if you lucky then slayers (use DVD-R) or the gamesave will cold boot if not..
hotswapp and fix then get the EEPROM and make a new HDD  
EEPROM, EEPROM, EEPROM  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

also do not unplug xbox for more then a hour untill it's fixed
becouse if the softmod is wacked you may not get a chance at the gamesave

Well if you can boot DVD games fine, run the game you softmoded with, and load the gamesave, that will gain you FTP access to the box.  From there you can copy over the Dash files from E:\Backup or E:\Backups to the C:\ drive.  You could also copy over the EEPROM.BIN from there to your PC.

I would try the Slayers disc to, but I would boot with it to gain FTP access, and copy over the Dash files from D:\system\all\c\

i can boot games but it wont boot slayers.i dont have a chip.it was softmoded.im getting error 13 with no cd in tray.and error 14 with slayers in tray.it is a 1.0 xbox and had 5960 dash.
im trying to avoid hotswaping cause i dont want to mess it up more than it allready is.
i can play xbox games but im scared if i try to hotswap it wont ever play xbox games again.

but here is how i got the error in the first place.
tryed to use Krayzie's  and i backed up eeprom n stuff on xbox.then when it got done backing up it went to nk patcher thing so i went with nkpatcher 67.
it said failed to patch and i couldnt do anything else other than reboot but thats when i got error 21....OOOkkk ...hmm then i reboot again then error 13.

i will hotswap if i have  to.but i want a method that is safe and faily easy.
