Error 5 On Boot Up<my Son Screwed It>

my son ran slayer 2.5 on his xbox all was working he told me he unlocked drive..
now it wont boot from reading here i assume its because its the org hd installed and looking for a locked drive to boot...its an old ver 1 xbox with an early massiah chip...has he totally screwed it? he has no back up or nothing so does not know hdd key which locking programs need....i know of no method of retriving key either?
any help would be appreciated...i have a pc to hand and a network hub plus a few xbox drives org seagates if this helps...
...p/s i forgot to mention it now wont boot from any cd or dvd just MS logo then the blue screen saying it needs service in all languages...

did you try reflashing the bios on your chip?

An error 5 means that your hard drive was unlocked when trying to boot the M$ BIOS.

dude why a new chip? just put the hdd in ur pc and use xboxhdm to relock it

Can't you use ConfigMagic, and lock the hard drive with the EEPROM on the XBox?

plz correct me if im wrong but isnt config magic only for xbox and if u cant boot how would u run it or is there a computer version just wanting to kno cuz i have the same problem and iv ben searching the forums for a while

Step one, get configmagic.  Step 2, burn it on a disc after making it an iso format.  Pop it into your xbox.  Turn off your xbox, cold boot and you should get the configmagic screen.
