Bios And Os Update
« on: July 04, 2005, 07:55:00 PM »

Sorry to be a bother, but i havent been into xbox mods for a LONG time now, i'm wondering which are the most up-to-date versions of BIOS's and OS's.   My current versions are working just fine, so i'm slightly wary of updating and screwing things up, so any help would be appreciated.

I remember flashing my BIOS with ... Xecuter 4981 i think, but that was quite a while ago.  And i have NO damn idea what version of Evox i'm running.

I'm gonna try to stay up-to-date with things such as Playstation Emulators and N64 Emulators, ect, and i figure i need to update my BIOS and OS as well.

I know these forums arent to keen on telling you 'where' to find this stuff, so just the names will do, i can find them on my own i suppose,  i do have one question however,   i have forgotten the file extension of the BIOS files,  werent they .bin or something?    thanks for your time.

that is GREAT,  thank you VERY much.

if you dont mind, i have a single question that i forgot to mention earlier:

the Xbox i modded was an OLD box, one of the first ever made is assume, making it a V1.0 or something, any reason to believe i would have trouble using X2 5035 or Evox 3935?

If you are running a mod chip that can hold a 512 KB BIOS (or more), then you'll have no problem at all flashing the X2 5035 on it. If your Xbox's TSOP is flashed instead (you don't have a mod chip), you'll still be able to put the BIOS on it (a 1.0/1.1 TSOP is 1 MB).

When you upgrade Evox to 3935, you shouldn't have any problems, either.
