Don't bother upgrading your bios if you have a TSOP, you will probably not see any difference, and on top of that you risk messing up your xbox good and being forced to put in a mod chip to fix it. PS: I believe your bios is X2 4981.

Not a problem - Just FTP in to your xbox from your computer and clean up whatever you don't like from the hard disk. Don't touch UDATA, TDATA, CACHE on E:, and make sure to leave your games alone (usually in E:\games or F:\games)

No. You can't burn dvds with your xbox without using linux.. too much of a pain in the ass for someone like you who seems pretty new to this.
