Problems With The Softmod.
« on: May 31, 2006, 03:39:00 PM »

I've soft modded my Xbox and everythign worked great until I started copying games to my HDD. I coppied about 3 games to the HDD and upon restarting my xbox, all the games were gone off the HDD and my Xbox wouldn't boot most of the games I have. I used Krayzie's Ndure and have UnleashX as my dashboard. When I try to copy games to the HDD, it now brings up an empty error window. any Ideas?

No, I'm using a Maxtor 250 GB HDD. I think it's the way I partitioned it (nkpatcher 06 instead of 67) I'm going to uninstall the soft mod (if I can) and try it that way.

Easiest way to do it would to use xboxhdm or Slayers.

ok, It didn't work and I ended up wiping my HDD (AGAIN). I've successfully coppied a few games do my HDD, but I'll keep an eye on it. I'm using nkpatcher.67 on my 250 GB HDD for now... .06 has issues with ones that are at 250 or higher apperantly.

.06  = put all space on F: drive, which if you use anything over 130 gb will cause corruption, that is why it advises you to use:

.67 = is to Safely place the 130 some GB's in F: and place the rest in G: to avoid corruption. (and get all space)

Note: if you use one of Krayzies installers, it tells you this when you hit the HELP file, when choosing.

sweet! Thanks for the info. I wondered why it would start having issues right after I coppied games to my HDD (on the F partition). The thing with Krazie's installer is it only tells you that HDD's above 250 GB have issues with .06. That should probably be revised.

Nothing has to be revised. Your problem is probably that you copied the games during a loaded bios (while led was red) or you changed the partition table somwhat during the thing. If you copy games make sure to do it form the normal unleashx screen. They should work fine.
Corruption on .06 only occurs above 254 GB

ok, I got home from work and started to copy games onto the HDD. I am using nkpatcher.67. I copied 2 games no problem but after copying the 3rd game on the normal orange bios and restarting my xbox, it took over 30 seconds to get from the UnleashX loading screen to the dashboard,  the F drive went from 134 GB free to 0 MB free and all the games I loaded on went away. Funny thing is, the F Drive said it was empty when I checked it out. This happens almost every time I copy more than 2 games onto the HDD. I removed the softmod and upon restarting, I'm now getting an error 13. Am I dong something wrong?
I appreciate the input, krayzie. You have done amazing work.

ok. I'm Debating whether or not to put the original HDD in. If I go on live with the original HDD will I be banned? It had never been on live prior to the Hdd replacement.
