Problem solved!

I downloaded the latest FlashBIOS 3.01-3-unauthorized from
http://www.soiledbin...rized/image.bin
and it has all the eeproms, just like the FlashBIOS 3.03-unauthorized from
http://www.soiledbin...rized/image.bin

Bingo, when I booted up the f*cked v1.6a using the FlashBIOS 3.01-3, I can see the screen output and I can go to the last option which is to flash a v1.6 eeprom, I pressed the button, now my v1.6a can boot normally

Shepd, you are the MAN! Thanks for the wonderful FlashBios 3.01-3 (for all versions except v1.6b) and FlashBios 3.03 (for all versions except v1.6a).

Some of the latest v1.6a can boot FlashBIOS 3.03, but not all v1.6a. I got the latest FlashBIOS 3.01-3 after reading the following thread:

Also get a dual bank chip witheeprom restire for $15 HERE .These boot on any machine with both versions of flashbios andare great for softmodders than have screwed the pooch.

Howcome my X3 says "Bad Flash" when I try to flash it with FlashBIOS 3.0.1-3?

This seems to be a problem a lot of us are having. this xbox coma.

I need to recover my eeprom on my box. I am using a v1.6b and have a X3 chip.

I have no A/V and until a minute ago thought I had nothing going at all, but have found that i am able to get to the flashBIOS screen on a backup BIOS. I think I just need to get an imbedded Bios. Am I wrong? I backed up my EEprom just before it went bad.

Any suggestions anyone???

Basically, the steps are:

- Ground the LFRAME (or D0) on v1.6a/b motherboard (force it to always boot the mod chip).

- The mod chip must be wired always-on as well, for example, connect BT on DuoX 2 to 3.3V (pin 9 of quicksolder area).

- The mod chip must be pre-flashed with Shepd's FlashBIOS 3.01-3 (for all versions except v1.6b) or 3.03 (for all versions except v1.6a) unauthorized.

Important: The xbox must be forced to boot the Shepd's FlashBIOS unauthorized directly - mod in always-on mode and the correct bios bank on mod chip preset (if there are multi banks).

- If you can see the FlashBIOS boot up but otherwise no video or sound, then you have a screwed up eeprom content. Congratulations, you have hope

- Scroll down the FlashBIOS menu and select the CORRECT eeprom version and then press "A" button. You will be told that eeprom flashing has completed and prompted to reboot the xbox.

- Power off your xbox, remove the mod chip and disconnect the LFRAME (or D0) on xbox motherboard from ground, and then power up your xbox. Your xbox should boot MS bios. Congratulations, you have managed to recover from even totally screwed eeprom content.

Since I am not familiar with the workings of X3, I would suggest that you buy the cheap and reliable DuoX 2 from a seller that is willing to flash FlashBIOS 3.01-3 unauthorized on one bank and FlashBIOS 3.03 unauthorized on the other bank.

Basically, it is not complicated to recover if the problem is just a screwed up eeprom content for any version of xbox. Again, thanks goes to Shepd for his wonderful contributions

Important points to note:

- FlashBIOS will only work with ORIGINAL MS xbox controller IN PORT 1
- FlashBIOS will only support composite video, so use only normal video cable

Hi there to everyone,

as a bit of a noobie to the XBOX scene , i have a couple of mates who i have helped out by modding their units.. a v1.1 , a v1.4 , v1.5 and 3 x v1.6 units. numerous repairs and psu replacements . all this and originally i was a ps2 man.. who woulda thunk

i have used mostly aladdin xt units. 64 and super live . the odd excuter.
with 1 and only 1 , i have had what seems to be similar to the eeprom stuffed syndrome.. can someone please help.
the v1.5 , with a thompson drive had run for about 4 months faultlessly. it did have evoxdash board loaded and a few application , media player ect.(maybe some played with xboxconfig

)
it started to load slowly for a couple of days and then finally it just stopped . it loads the splash screen and then the MS logo and freezes.. the dvd rom was swapped with my samsung and no go, the hard drive boots my machine, chip removed and still no boot.
so can you pains takingly point me in the right direction someone.pleeeeease
i have played with some chip flashing on my own unit and used auto installer deluxe to help install and use a 160gig hdd and find the wonders of game loading to hdd.
but how can one force a boot from a dvd to maybe flash a stuffed eeprom on the board ?
much to the owners dismay and downtime fro his beloved box, he bought a new v1.6 and got me to perform the operation so he can keep bashing away until i work this one out..

Okay, New problem guys:

I have Xbox v1.6b & X3
My Box was in a coma state due to a Config Magic error. The EEProm had been erased.

Flashed using Cromwell unofficial 3.03
Turned box back on and saw cromwell FlashBIOS screen
Scrolled down to restore EEprom v1.6 and clicked A
Said flash was successful and turn off Xbox
Restarted box and the flubber animation started up audio and all
Then, all of a sudden,
the screen goes blank
the eject light turns to a flashing amber
then, two seconds later, the whole thing shuts off(

)

I flipped the switches to another bank to try and get back to the FlashBIOS screen and flash it with the correct Bios, but three seconds after the Blue flash bios scrren comes up, it does the same thing with the amber lights and the shutdown. So now instead of an Xbox in a coma, I have an Xbox that doesnt want to come out and play.

Update:
I left it alone while typing that message
Came back to it and started it up, it works fine
I immediately started it on the backup Bios so I could flash using the correct Bios.
Flashed flawlessly using xecuterv1.6bplus.bin and restarted
It went through the whole startup with my custom flubber colors and all
I cried a little on the inside
Then after the Xbox logo, It goes to blank screen and flashing amber again, although this time instead of turning off right away, you can't turn it off???
So I unplugged (I know) and the when I started it back up, it did the startup fine but it would lose everything after three seconds again and flash amber, not being able to stop it.

HELP SOME MORE!!!!! thanks again guys

Oh except I cant access my F drive, it says access denied. Its not locked and I have the "use F drive" option enabled. Any ideas.
