Which Bios?
« on: May 18, 2005, 02:06:00 PM »

I just got my X2.6 CE, installing it tonite...

I was previously using a Spiderchip with EvoX M8+ BIOS - see signature...

Now that I've upgraded to the X2.6 CE, which BIOS would YOU reccommend using?  Can I still use an EvoX BIOS, or do I need to use the X2 OR X3 BIOS?

I still have EvoX installed on my HDD as the dashboard...will an X2/X3 BIOS allow me to assign EvoX as the default dashboard?  If I have the most current EvoX dash, would the INCLUDED X2/X3 BIOS be compatible with my X2.6 CE Chip?

THANKS!

X2 5032?  is this the most current X2 BIOS???

should be available on #xbins right?

also, x2ool?  is this like EV/XBTool for EvoX?  what is the difference between x2ool and x2 config maker?

There isn't really any difference, x2ool can patch the LBA48 setting's, x2 Config Maker can't (But does other stuff x2ool don't)  tongue.gif .

OK, this may seem like a stupid question...but when I was using my Spiderchip w/ EvoX m8+ BIOS it seems like when I used EV/XBTool to edit and save the BIOS, it was all saved within the BIN file?  But with the x2 5032, X2ool is creating an .INI file...where do I put this? Directly on C:\??? If so, does this mean you can make changes to the boot configuration, etc without having to flash the BIOS each time?

Also, tried using the x2 BIOS manager downloaded from the team executer site and it wont give me the md5 hash for the x2 5032???

Thanks!

Thanks once again Klutsh!  Yea, I noticed your name mentioned in the read-me file...so I will take your advice and use the x2 Config Maker.  Thanks for the info about the config file...does this mean u can make changes to the configuration without reflashing the BIOS...just by changing the .INI file?  if so THATS BRILLIANT!  hahah

SWEET! these guys are truly genious!

x2 is installed, and running like a champ with the 5032 bios.  used x2 config maker to edit the config file so I can get my blue flubber, etc...no probs there.  MUCH better than having to flash the BIOS every time...that was my downfall last time!

THANKS for all the helpful info!
