I hadn't played THUG or Soul Calibur II since I got my new projector which is capable of 720p. I went to play them the other day and my Xbox would lock up when trying to play them through Evox from the HDD. using the originals and trying to boot them format he MS dash they would have audio but no video signal at all.
This particular Xbox was running a Xenium chip and the X2 4983 bios. I later took another Xbox with a TSOP flashed with the Evox M8 bios and everything works just fine.
I borrowed a friends Xbox with an Xecuter 2 chip running the 4977 bios and it has the same results as my first Xbox when trying to run in 720p, lockups from booting games from Evox and no video booting games from the MS dash.
I should note that all three systems have the same version of evox and the same version of the MS dash (whatever version is supplied on slayers 2.5)
I have tested the following 720p games on all three of the above systems with the same results:
Soul Calibur II
THPS 4
THUG
True Crime: Streets of LA
X-Men Legends
I was wondering if this is a common problem with the X2 bioses and which bioses are recommended for the best compatibility with the HD formats (720p and 1080i)?
