Hi there, i rescently traded my modded xbox and my spare Playstation 2 for my friends modded XBOX with a 120GB hard drive.
Now the xbox seems to have little wrong with it on a fundamental scale, but there are a couple of annoying things about it that werent present on the old one, which i would like to know how to fix.
I suspect they are related to either A: The type of modchip installed on this xbox (The old one was an Xecuter2, this is unknown), or B: The BIOS installed on this chip.
The problems i speak of are:
1: The "Right+Left Trigger, Back+Black" soft reset functionality only works on the dashboard, once any application or game is opened it no longer works and the xbox must be turned off and on manually.
2: The XBOX cant be turned on by the eject button or it gets an error 5.
3: The temperature monitors dont work.
4: The dashboard executable file has to be named "evoxdash.xbe" not "xboxdash.xbe" in order to load as a dashboard.
What i would like to know are -
Are these problems the kind of things that would occur if a rubbish BIOS were installed?
Are there any programs that could tell me what kind of modchip is present in my system. The only thing i have that comes close is "BIOS Checker" and it only tells me that my modchip is an 'AMD Something something something'.
Are they all fixable in one way or another?
Thanks muchly
Leo
