M8+ Only Works With Cd In Drive

Any other bios will work perfectly for me.
I'd like to use M8+ bios though.
The bios will sometimes load a CD, but otherwise I don't even get a picture showing up on my HDTV.

Anyone ever heard of something like this?

V1.4 xbox
Usual Places, EvolutionX, MULTI, so it should be the right file.
Using the regular M8+, not the 16. I double-checked on that one.
