I thought about something...
is it possible to take a harddrive from an original xbox and put in my chipped xbox then install a softmod with the " auto installer" on the harddrive then change it back to an original xbox?
does it work?
can i play backup on that xbox then?

No.. It wont work becuase your xbox with the modchip wont be able to unlock the harddrive that you are trying to softmod. Each harddrive is locked to there respective motherboards until unlocked by the eeprom. But if you unlock a softmodded xbox, then you will get error 05. The xbox needs to be locked for a softmod. With a hardmod, there is no problem unlocking it, but you wont be able to boot the xbox without the modchip on. You could hotswap it though with txboxhdm and softmod that way.. Do a search for xboxhdm softmod and you should get a tut.

Or you could use ConfigMagic and switch the eeprom in the chipped box to the eeprom of the softmodded box, then lock the hard drive. But yeah, mstandlee is right. Wrong forum.

if you had both xbox's you could hot swap ftp transfer the exploit and boom it works

*Standard* Hotswap is the easiest option other than an exploit game with gamesave on memory stick.
