Sims,

I got a similar issue,  I have a 1.0, a CheapMod with IND BIOS 5003 (config file injected), Avalaunch and 250G Maxtor.

Every now and then I can't boot after I powered down (I use a smart joy frag, and I power down to leave the game). I get a similar behaviour as you describe, green light briefly than powerdown again.  sad.gif

I can get it running again by removing and re-applying the AC power (in fact I use an external AC power switch).  dry.gif

I now give it a try with 4983.06 maybe this helps... huh.gif

OK. Funny thing. I opened the xbox and reallign the mod chip (the matrix modchip is not soldered, just alligned and screwed in). Apparently, the dip switches trick I used to "repair" the bug put it in a better position because of the pressure it put on the chip. But now, after trying a lot, I alligned it correctly and it works fine. It's just weird because for more than 1 year I've brought my xbox to friends's houses and had no problem with that. So I guess that matrix owners need to reallign their chip once in a while.

Hi,

my problems are gone with the 4983.06 bios.
So indeed the IGR seems to play up in my case.  huh.gif

I will try setting the IGR compatibility mode in 5003.06 as suggested by nsspeak
to see whether this solves my issue.

I prefer 5003.06 because of its 480p supports at boot time.

My problems returned, and staid even when 4983.06 was used.

Learning from sims experience, I had a closer look at my Xbox, and even removed the mainboard.

It turns out that one of the pins of the header that connects the cheapmod was in fact causing the issue. Due to bad soldering, it had simply decended making insufficient contact with the mainboard.

After resoldering the header pin problem was solved.  smile.gif

It seems everyone is having this probelm with their soldering/sodlerless adapter. I'm having this simillar issue but not with IGR. When i load up IND bios it works fine and all, when I click "Restart" in Avalaunch it boots to frag. When i try the same steps with the 4981 or 4983 bios it works fine. My Xenium chip was and has been fine for many months now. This is my frist time using the IND bios.
