Running Pbl-lite
« on: January 01, 2005, 08:41:00 AM »

Okay, for a while I thought that I had done this properly because I was able to run a burned copy of Xebian on my xbox.  But just yesterday, I ran "Bios Checker" on my xbox and it said the bios was still the "xbox 4034".

So, What I have is PBL-lite and it came with the default.xbe habibi signed and a xboxrom.bin with the X2 4981.67 bios.  In the readme, it tells that to make it work, "place it where your exploit boots its executable from."

So, I went to where I had saved a copy of my exploit on my computer.  It is the UDE2 complete exploit with the updatefonts71 package.  So, looking at the readme, hoping to find where my "exploit boots its executable from", this is all the readme said:

"UDE2 Install (Nkpatcher7 with Evox Dashboard)

Works on *ONLY* U.S. & Canada Xbox consoles

Versions 1.0 - 1.6 (K:3944 - K:5838)

For those that want an very clean C drive on their Xbox and don't desire to go through
the hassle of learning exploits, this is for you. I've included 2 sets, 61 & 71. As
rmenhal mentioned, the memory layout is somewhat different on alomst every Xbox. If 61
does not boot, try 71 and vice versa.

Install instructions:

1. Gain access to the Xbox hard drive

2. Backup (optional) contents of Xbox's current C drive to PC

3. Erase contents of Xbox's C drive

4. Copy contents from ude2-updatefonts folder to the Xbox's C drive (Try 71 first)

5. Cold boot Xbox with no disk in dvd tray"

So, does anyone know where the ude2 complete updatefonts71 boots its executable from?
