Hmm... I don't doubt that pressed media runs the same on both boxes when the chip is disabled. How about you run a pressed (i.e. not a backup) disc on both boxes with the modchip enabled. All other things being the same (we can discount the Hynix since it runs "pretty much" the same on both boxes with the pressed media in the same optical drive), any discrepancy running pressed discs between the two boxes with the chips enabled should indicate a discrepancy between the performances of the hacked bioses.

That'd be an interesting test, at the very least.

Xecuter did again recently state they're working on an X2 bios, so we'll see when that happens. I know they don't like giving dates (you should see all the pandemonium anticipation of the latest X3 bios release is causing on their forums) but I'm sure when the new 1.6 X2 bios comes out it'll be hands-down the best (excepting perhaps the X3 bios).

just to thow my $0.02 in the m8+ has worked great in 3 box's that ive done
that had hynix ram and it seems to work flawless even. xenium modchip btw
and yea i'd like a new x2 bios but its not Xecuter's job to make a free bios and i dont expect them to, if they do you should thank them for there hard work that they wont get a dime for

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. I've put M8+ on 2.6s, but since the only Xenium installs I've done are on pre-1.6 consoles, I've always used 4983.

I really think continuing this topic is beating a dead horse.

This analogy blows, infact you have it wrong. what your analogy should say is i go to buy a ford car, look at the motor and see a cheezy toyota motor. you can change the motor to someone else's crap. OR you expect to get a ford motor because its a fucking ford.

Even better, since for all of Ford's SMALLER cars you open up the hood and get a Mazda motor. Only if you get the big V8 are you assured of getting a Ford motor.

Look at the Escort and Probe? Part-for-part drivetrain compatible with the Mazda 323 and 626 of the time.

Happens every day. Get used to it.
