As stated this'll be my first go.

I'll be purchasing a SmartXX V2.

I'm curious what suggestions you may have on what bios to go with?  And why?

I'm leaning towards Avalaunch for my dash, but I'd like opinions there too.  I saw a vote in another thread a while back and it seemed Ava was by far a more popular dash than Evox (which I though from all I'd read, was the big prefer).

Anyways, hope I get some response.

The Opera under the BIOSES. Customizable and it has all features you will ever need. Take a look at the readme the features I use the most are :

''Auto Load DVD Disable/Enable'' ALL other Bioses will load a DVD if their is one in the DVD tray, iND-BIOS allows you to turn this off and go to the dashboard what ever happens.

UnleashX :
UnleashX is really stable and it supports all the function I need/want it's also one of the few Dashboard that can be skinned (most dashboard allow you to change the background picture, UnleashX allows you to change everything!). At the moment UnleashX is the most advance dash available and still quite easy to configure.

i say go with x4981.06, it has been the most stable for me thus far, that and the m8 bios...as for dashboard i'd have to say go with tHc lite. just a modified version of the xbox dash, lets u look at ur saves, built in cd-player, dvd player, nifty interface and just an all around good dash, considerin the ms dash was a good implementation into the xbox software features...ur gonna have to use somethin else for ftp (avalaunch, evox, or unleash x, hell u can use all three) until the new version of the dash with built in ftp comes out...

 And I recommend UX to newer users, with Avalaunch as a stand alone app (for Boostmode and Qwix usage ).

See sig.  My choice of BIOS obviously is useless to you, but both EvoX and Avalaunch are very nice dashboards.

I've used EvoX ever since my first softmod, and now I'm gravitating more towards Avalaunch, simply because it looks better and actually gets updated.  The "Boost Mode" works nicely with other chips, but I manage to max out my connection no matter what dash, even in X3CL, so that feature is irrelevant to me.

The combo of Avalaunch and Qwix is very nice for working with xISOs.
