Will this BIOS block Live like the later X2 BIOS' does?

I'm interested in using this BIOS now that it looks like the X2 one won't be developed anymore

Ben

It's suppose to... can anyone confirm it works 100%?

to explain the xbox live block for dannymak, thc will work FINE as it has no network services, telnet, ftp, etc.  (even if it did, the dash itself would work fine, just not those services)  The total network block for the MS dash-like .xbe's is to prevent even the dumbest newb from signing on live through the dash - and to prevent update.xbe's from connecting to live.

Jbone has already changed the titleID for UIX, so it wont be issue there, either.

Did you read the nfo? MS dash mod.
But, you must not understand something here...
the "titleID" is a unique number assigned to each game/app/whatever.  Evox/ava/mxm/xbmc/nexgen/whatever else have their own ID.  But when people modify the MS dash, (UIX, 2GAM, NeoDash-X), IF they dont change the titleID.

Kernelbase tells you to do this:
That step is unnecessary with ind-bios and is what causes the problem. To fix it, invert the face orientation again (which negates the original inversion).

cheers for confirming that. managed to get the .x files from kernelbase n allxboxskins to work! both as text.x n xlogo.x.  smile.gif

I'm getting a HDD Error whenever I try to run this BIOS. It's like 08 Error or whatever and there is a gigantic Xbox displayed above. It's funny because I don't get the error when running 4983.06 or any other X2 BIOSes, but this iND BIOS 5003 release gives me this. Any ideas?

Why does fscking white + back turn turn the xbox off? I was in the middle of a game of Turtles in Time and the xbox shut off!  You don't even need ot press any triggers, just white and back, it's crazy.

may i request for you to enlighten us please. i have scanned through the .nfo but it does not say why pressing (back + white) will shutdown the box.

it says, (Triggers, back + white), in the .nfo but it will shutdown without pulling in the triggers..  sad.gif

That's a bug, and I can confirm it.

It's great to see this bios developed actually.  When I took the plunge into XBox modding a few weeks ago and got an Xecuter 2.6, I was disappointed to learn that the bios is no longer being developed.... "Great, I've landed a dead-end modchip with no more updates" ... great to see this is not the case.

I assume this subsides the X2.4983 as the best, most advanced bios (of this kind)?  Would upgrading to this new bios be a wise move?
