128mb Ram Upgrade And Bios Support
« on: September 30, 2004, 11:19:00 AM »

I'm using ldots UDE installer with PBL-metoo as my BIOS loader and the Evox M8 BIOS.  I know the X2 BIOS supports 128MB RAM, but does the M8?

More importantly, does using a BIOS loader provide support the additional RAM, or do you have to actually have  a mod chip or flash your BIOS?

Thanks.

Uhhhh really?  Sounds like a hardware mod to me.  I'll try the BIOS forum.

I know that there's an app that will get rid of the 64meg flag, maybe try looking into that.

I'm mainly concerned with running Xebian, and I'm pretty sure that supports 128MB natively; I'm more worried about getting the hardware to detect it.

im not sure but as i understand it, its not a matter of the bios unless you have a bios like ind-bios that will patch the bios for 128 ram on the fly. x2 bios should have no problem working with 128meg ram. but of course if you want to use applacations that will utillize 128meg then you  neeed to patch the xbe.
