How To Support G Partition With M8_16 ?
« on: September 23, 2004, 08:11:00 AM »

I successfully installed UDE2 on Xbox 1.6.
The BIOS file M8_LBA48_IGR_Q-06-BFM.BIN doesn't see the G partition, although it's there.
I used evtool.exe to edit M8_LBA48_IGR_Q-06-BFM.BIN, but the Xbox frags.
Is there an M8_16 that's pre-edited to support the G partition?
Any help would be appreciated.

it'll be impossible to get a g with the bios you have, you need the 67 version and you have the 06
just get a stock m8 bios and evtool and mod it with evtool with the partition setting as partition f gets upto 137 and g gets the rest
this will be a partition 6 and 7

I got the M8_16 BIOS file, but evtool 1.0.6 doesn't allow you to convert it to BFM.
I can't find the BFM BIOS files anywhere, including the "usual" place.
I can't find the 67 version of the M8_16.
It seems as if evtool 1.0.6 should allow you to edit the BIOS file to support the G partition, but something not working.
Why doesn't evtool 1.0.6 allow you to convert the BIOS file to the BFM version?!

get evtool from xbins and it'll have the rc4 keys needed to make it a bfm bios
if you get evtool from x-s then you'll have to find the rc4 keys yourself

As usual, Psilocybe has answered without really knowing what he's talking about.

EVtool doesn't use RC4 keys and it doesn't support BFM rom files at this time. There is a hacked EVtool version which will supposedly ignore the id test and patch a BFM version, but I haven't tried it myself and can't really help you with it.

I am also having this problem. I've installed a 2.6 lite modchip with a 250GB HD. Everything is working flawlessly except that my G drive is not usable. The G partition is there, but it reads a size of zero and I cannot read and write to it. I am looking for detailed instructions on what to do to get this additional drive space as usuable, right now I'm limited to just 130 GB on my F partition.
